GED® Test Preparation Instructor

QUESTIONS
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a part-time instructor to work 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8am to 2:30pm at the Wicomico County Detention Center. The GED® test preparation instructor will teach science, math and language arts to adult education learners and prepare students to take the official GED® test.
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
- Teaches the following with an emphasis on reasoning and problem solving:
- All levels of basic math
- Algebra I and II
- Advanced geometry
- Science
- Language arts, including reading and writing
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals established for the program
- Administers standardized tests
- Assesses the accomplishments of students
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of teaching experience
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping and human relations skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching adults
This is a temporary, contractual position. This position does not include any benefits other than the option to purchase subsidized employee-only coverage in the college's standard medical plan, which the employee must elect when first eligible, and must pay the employee portion of the premium to remain enrolled.
