POSITION: Part-Time Business Manager: Administrative Assistant II; Marketing Communications; Haverhill Campus; 25 hours/week, M-F; AFSCME Unit I
SUMMARY: The Marketing Communications Business Manager (part-time) is a dynamic role collaborating with many campus clients. You'd provide support for marketing communications functions and some event assistance. Overall, you'd play a critical role supporting the marketing, communications, reprographics, and mailroom functions at NECC.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Marketing Communications Business Manager (part-time) is responsible for reconciling two budget lines, managing job trafficking, coordinating relationships with external vendors and internal clients, managing department calendars and resources, and serving as project manager for a number of marketing communications initiatives.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Project Management and Job Trafficking - 40%
- Triage all job requests and track in database
- Project manager and proofer for printed collateral (alumni magazine, commencement, etc.)
- Coordinate all print and digital job trafficking with vendors and internal clients
- Manage all traditional media ad buys (TV, radio, outdoor, transit, etc.)
- Maintain freelance roster and manage assignments
- Assist in supervising student workers
- Monitor shared email inboxes
Budget and Expense Management - 40%
- Monitor and reconcile the MarCom and Reprographics budgets
- Coordinate vendor quotes, requisitions, contracts, and invoices
- Manage credit card transactions and reporting
- Process inter-departmental chargebacks
- Assist Procurement with RFPs and periodic audits
- Assist with team reimbursements and travel expenses
Event and Other Support - 20%
- Manage inventory of event support assets (banners, tablecloths, swag, etc.)
- Assist in planning/hosting signature campus events
- Oversee inventory of photography/videography equipment
- Office support (software licensing, facilities requests, supplies, etc.)
- Office calendars (Outlook and marketing content)
- Ensure department intranet site stays current

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management, the major duties of which included one or more of the following functions: purchasing, personnel management, budgeting, accounting, records management, work simplification, grants management, contract administration or program management, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
- An Associate or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.*
- An Associate or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
- Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years' experience in an in-house or agency-based marketing role
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Access and Excel)
- Experience with project management software
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Ability to facilitate cooperative work with a diverse group of individuals
- Experience and comfort with writing professional communications
- Commitment to contributing to an inclusive work environment
- Experience analyzing, investigating, and solving simple database issues
- Experience with ERP or SIS systems (Banner, Colleague, etc.)
- Experience with Content Management Systems (WordPress, SharePoint, Destiny One, etc.)
BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.
Additional Information:
SALARY: $1,356.58 - $1,913.98 biweekly ($35,271.08 - $49,763.48 annually). Pay grade 17; An appointment from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at Step I of the range.
