Niagara County Community College has a need for a full-time, 10 month tenure-track Instructor to teach freshman and sophomore courses in Psychology in the Humanities & Social Sciences Division.
These classes are three lecture hours per week during days and/or evenings. Classes are held on the NCCC’s main campus in Sanborn, NY. Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence.
The start date of this position will be late August for the beginning of the Fall 2020 Semester pending budget approval.

Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must be proficient with computer technology. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Bachelor of Arts or Science in Psychology and Master of Arts or Science in Psychology by the time of their appointment into the position.
Specialization in Social or Cognitive Psychology at the graduate level is preferred.
ABD or Ph.D. in Psychology. Specialization in Social or Cognitive Psychology in a Ph.D. program is highly desirable. Prior teaching and advisement experience at the college level as well as experience with Blackboard, Starfish, Banner, and classroom technologies are strongly desired.
Established in 1962, NCCC offers a comprehensive and vibrant learning environment with an enrollment of approximately 5,214 students (Fall 2018 semester). The student-to-faculty ratio is 17:1, providing a high degree of personalized attention for students.
The NCCC campus, located in Sanborn, NY, offers easy access to many cities, towns and villages within Western New York and is minutes from the Canadian border. The campus is centrally located between the county’s three main cities of Lockport, Niagara Falls, and North Tonawanda. NCCC serves the community in two locations within Niagara County, at the Sanborn campus, and at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, located in the heart of downtown Niagara Falls.
