The responsibilities of this position consist of teaching Math courses to be determined, but primarily college algebra, pre-calculus, and statistics to students in the community college setting at the Tuscola Tech Center, located in Caro, MI; and/or the Huron Tech Center in Bad Axe, MI. The specific course offering will depend on the qualifications of the applicant(s). This position holds accountability for instruction, student assessment, and evaluation of a diverse student population.
Mid is looking for someone who can teach College Algebra or Statistics on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:20 a.m. and again from 12:00 p.m. - 1:20 p.m.

Teaches assigned classroom courses.
Develops and updates syllabi for courses assigned and ensures course content and requirements meet the requirements of college and accreditation agencies.
Develops appropriate assessment tools to determine course effectiveness and assures that student outcomes are achieved.
Assesses student academic achievement and provides students with timely and meaningful feedback on progress in the course(s).
Maintains and reports appropriate classroom records, to include student attendance and grades.
Holds appropriate office hours for meeting with and assisting students.
Maintains regular communication with Library and Learning Services staff.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service programs within the department and college-wide.
Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, and student service initiatives.
Adheres to the objectives, policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines of the college. Ensures all communications and practices demonstrate support of the Ethics for Teaching Professionals.
Support and serve as a role model for the college mission, vision, and student service initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to translate educational and professional experience into the student learning environment.
Ability to provide positive motivation and encourage student participation.
Ability to keep up with new trends and developments in classroom technology.
Effective planning, organizational, and communication skills.
Written and computer skills needed to prepare course materials.
Analytical skills to evaluate and report student learning outcomes.
Master's in mathematics, Mathematics Education or Statistics, or
Master's degree and 18 graduate credits in Mathematics or statistics.
Two years of teaching experience preferred; ideally at the community college level.
The job responsibilities of this position are performed in a classroom environment which requires a professional image and demeanor, on-time attendance and reliability. The environment has little, if any discomfort due to heat, cold or dust. There is light noise within the environment.
There may be travel to other college locations for meetings. Travel between campus locations is required.
Job duties may be performed in an independent or a team atmosphere.
The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (5- 45 pounds).
Must meet reasonable and sometimes shifting deadlines, quotas, or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some unpleasant situations.
Work scheduled may vary each semester depending on class times/locations.
