Merced Lao Family Community, Inc. (MLFC) is a non-profit organization in Merced, CA. MLFC has been supporting and empowering local community members since 1981. We strive to be the bridge between individuals, families, and the community with the goal of promoting a better quality of life for the Southeast Asian community and all residents in the Merced area.

We are hiring a part-time program assistant to join our Stop the Hate Program (STH) from Merced Lao Family Community, Inc. (MLFC). This programs goals are to bring awareness of hate and offer resources to individuals who are affected by racial bias or are currently experiencing hate-related activities.

As a program assistant, you will work under the supervision of the Executive Director/Program Coordinator to build a strong relationship with but not limited to the Southeast Asian community. Providing outreach, general services, and offering hate crime education, public resources, and safety techniques to the greater Merced.

Responsibilities:

• Provide outreach, support, and general resources for Southeast Asian and Merced County.
• Assist the program coordinator with quarterly training workshops.
• Meet with clients and schedule appointments for general services and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain accurate and timely required documentation, records, and reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual reports), as outlined by agency policies and procedures, to the Executive Director/Program Coordinator.
• Prepare credible information and facts about hate-related statistics in Merced County.
• Create professional awareness material in regard to hate bias.
• Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings and Stop the Hate collaborative meetings/trainings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director or the Program Coordinator.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university.
• Bilingual in Hmong and English. *Required*
• Exhibit a professional attitude and appearance.
• Display proficiency in social media and content creation.
• Demonstrate linguistic and cultural competency.
• Outreach and work with the Southeast Asian community.
• Display excellent organizational skills, computer proficiency, and strong written, and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17,160.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
