Sauk Valley Community College invites innovative individuals for a faculty opening. This is a tenure track, nine-month position that is available fall 2020 or spring 2021. Salary is based on education and experience and may be augmented by summer teaching and overload opportunities. The College offers a liberal fringe benefits package and does not deduct FICA from paychecks.
The faculty member may teach courses on campus, off campus, on-line, and synchronous learning. This position will also provide input to program and course development, as well as other curriculum initiatives. The faculty member will also serve on campus committees and have the option of serving in the role of faculty advisor to associated student clubs.
The successful candidate for the position must possess a master’s degree in Mathematics or related field with 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics. This position will focus on instructing courses in developmental math , statistics, and college-level math courses. The successful candidate will understand and embrace the needs of the developmental math student.
Preference will be given to individuals who have college or high school teaching experience, demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy, have experience with assessment of student learning outcomes, and have familiarity or experience with internet instruction.
