Clerk/Typist II (Registrar/Records) – Vincennes, IN
Vincennes University’s Registrar/Student Records Office is seeking applicants to fill the position of Clerk-Typist II. This is a full-time, support staff position.
The position involves extensive data entry of student data, including applicant and prospective student data. The person hired for this position will also be required to work directly with students, staff, faculty, and the public, in person, by telephone and by email.
This position is responsible for:
Enter and update student data on Banner, including applicant and prospective student data.
Work directly with students, staff, faculty, and the public to answer questions and communicate policies and procedures both verbally and in written form.
Assist with the following: answering the telephone, filing, maintenance of student academic files, incoming mail, preparation of large mailings, enrollment certifications, preparation and distribution of academic transcripts, grades, graduation, Start VU (program for incoming freshmen), evaluation of transfer credit from other universities, distribution of reports containing student information, and other duties as assigned.
The person in this position frequently communicates with students, faculty, and other staff members regarding student transcripts and records. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasionally lifts and moves file boxes weighing up to 50lbs. The person hired for this position must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills, be able to handle multiple projects at one time, and be able to prioritize office responsibilities. Occasional overtime in the evening and on weekends is required.
The successful candidate will have:
An Associate degree, required
Prior experience with data entry on Banner, DegreeWorks, Microsoft Excel & Word, knowledge of the university environment, experience working with students in a university setting, and experience working with the public will be helpful to the successful applicant.
