Department/Division Purpose (brief description of main function):
Provide relevant and rigorous instruction to students in our Computer Information Systems Program in order to provide them with the skills and knowledge to become productive employees or to successfully transfer to a four-year institution to continue their education.

This new, grant-funded position will support the following functions related to the CIS department: E-sports programming, National Cyber League competitions, internship placement and follow-up, recruiting and student pathway advisement. This position will serve as the PCC E-sports coach, and as a CIS advisor.
Responsibilities include organizing student activities, coaching, student advisement, recruitment and mentoring of students, internship coordination and apprenticeship support. Additionally, this position will have teaching responsibilities including one course per fall and spring semester.
All employees must adhere to the laws, policies, procedures, rules, and applications, which govern and affect the college, including the fiscal rules of the State of Colorado.
Absences will be minimal and only for appropriate cause; notification of supervisor is required. Employees are expected to model professionalism in dress, action, and communication.
Necessary Special Requirements:
To successfully fulfill the essential functions, this position requires a flexible work schedule to include afternoons, evenings and weekends in order to provide and facilitate E-sports programming, competitions and college events.
Serve as the lead to develop and coach an emerging e-sports team
Esports labs computer maintenance and troubleshooting
Serve as the National Cyber League coach
Work as a liaison with high school teachers to coach/mentor the NCL teams
Serve as a point-of-contact for inquiries across campus for the program
Advise students as a member of the CIS team
Maintain student advisement and graduation records in accordance with policy and procedures
Recruitment and Retention
Recruit students into P-TECH and CIS programs which may include representing the department at events or activities, working on promotional materials and the website, or developing campaigns to reach current, former or future students
Help resolve student challenges and conflict
Provide mentoring to students as needed
Provide career guidance for students
Coordinate completion of the VE135 graduate survey
Branch campus program development and support
Coordinate/support the CIS P-Tech program
Develop and coordinate a CIS apprenticeship program
Teaches courses as assigned and meets all scheduled classes with a minimum of one class in the fall and spring semesters
Provides adequate preparation of the course material
Serves as a substitute within the program for absent colleagues for short-term absences as needed
Maintains regularly scheduled office hours for consultation or advisement with students
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field.
Licenses or Certificates:
Eligible for CTE credentialing in the state of Colorado
2 years full-time work experience in Information Technology or related field in the last 7 years
