We invite applications from accounting professionals qualified to teach undergraduate courses in the accounting field, such as Principles of Accounting I and II, Managerial Accounting, and Personal Finance. The new colleague will be responsible to deliver accounting coursework in evidence-based, engaging, and discipline-appropriate ways. Successful candidates share our commitment to student success, respect for diversity, culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Our faculty members, supported by regular professional development, enjoy developing and delivering courses in many different teaching formats.

Faculty members typically provide 15 credit hours (one credit hour equals 50 minutes) of instruction each semester. Non-instructional college-service work may include community outreach, grant writing, or committee work, and advising students.

Job Requirements:
Master's degree in accounting, or master's degree with 18 graduate hours in accounting, or related degree with equivalent experience in the subject area as well as teaching experience are required. Commitment to student-centered, outcomes-based education with skillful incorporation of multiple instructional strategies and technologies as appropriate is expected. Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills and an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development and the ability to work harmoniously within a diverse college community.

Additional Information:
Applications will be accepted until the end of January 26, 2024. First-round interviews will be conducted by videoconference during the second and third week of February. Candidates selected as finalists will be invited to visit Berkshire Community College early in March for an in-person interview and a teaching demonstration. Finalists will be required to provide the names, titles, institutions, and phone numbers of three references. Salary: $52,970 - $61,993 (per MCCC contract); Grade: Assistant Professor; Full time; Tenure-track; Benefited

Area of Assignment: Science and Business Review of applications will begin 26 January, 2024, and first round interviews 12 February, 2024.

Effective Date: 28 August, 2024
