Job Summary and Qualifications

 

As a Senior Compensation Analyst at Galen College of Nursing you will support the Compensation function by administering incentives, annual increases, project management of compensation initiatives, and assisting with HR inquiries

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Review, adjust and assign job grades and classifications based on job families.
  • Complete industry-based compensation salary surveys (CUPA, etc.)
  • Review and approve job descriptions for appropriate education and experience.
  • Conduct market salary analysis to ensure competitive compensation.
  • Administer participation in incentive compensation plans.
  • Partner with VP of HR to provide compensation policies and practices guidance to Leaders, Managers and HR Business Partners
  • Analyze internal salary structures and provide guidance as necessary on changes to grade assignments.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on pay scales and appropriate offer amounts.
  • Define career paths within job families to align with job grades and appropriate market compensation data.
  • Assist in annual merit, promotions, and budget process.
  • Identify and analyze business problems and devise procedures and solutions to the problems.
  • Independently resolve complex inquiries that arise related to the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs, policies, practices and processes to support business needs
  • Identify the need and create ad hoc reporting and analysis to assist with solution identification.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

 

Education: Minimum of a Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Management or a relevant field.

 

  • Strong understanding of higher education field preferred.
  • Five or more years in a similar compensation role required with experience in a higher education setting preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and personal information.
  • Strong technical skills including experience using HRIS, Excel, and compensation tools.
  • Experience using effective, professional communication and maintaining a strong connection to leadership across the College.
  • Excellent organizational skills are a must to manage a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to communicate proactively and cultivate strong relationships with colleagues at all levels across the College.
  • A strong, strategic, and analytical mindset coupled with intellectual energy, who acts aligned with Galens mission and vision and iCARE values.
  • A culture champion who understands and appreciates the power of a strong compensation program and its impact on the long-term business strategy as well as on the mission of the College.

 

Special Qualifications:

 

  • Interpret and communicate compensation policies and processes.
  • Work with all levels of leadership with direct report to Main Campus.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization, along with vendors, students, and others as applicable.
  • Use multi-media tools and resources that would be beneficial for compensation analysis and administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Communicate with co-workers and customers in a face-to-face or virtual setting.

Position requires mental activity, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum). Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis.

 

Travel may be required.
