The Colorado Health Careers Collaborative, led by the Community College of Denver (CCD) and Arapahoe Community College (ACC), is a partnership with Centura Health, HealthONE, DaVita, and public school districts. The Collaborative will create health career pathways for students around the 10 fastest growing health occupations including postsecondary certification, career navigation, apprenticeships, and job shadow opportunities in Colorado.
The Project Coordinator for the Colorado Health Careers Collaborative at CCD is responsible for the oversight, development, and implementation of all programs associated with the Collaborative in collaboration with the Program Manager at ACC. In collaboration with the Program Manager, the coordinator will assemble and lead cross-functional teams with program partners and serve as the central point of contact at CCD for the program. This position will work with academic leadership at ACC and CCD to define the scope of the project and develop a program plan based on grant requirements.
This position is limited, grant-funded through March, 2023. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of all activities associated with the Collaborative in collaboration with the Program Manager at ACC and other programs partners.
  • Serves as a liaison to the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Denver Opportunity Youth Initiative project team, Workforce Centers to attract Opportunity Youth to participate in the Colorado Health Career Academies that serve as pre-apprenticeship in health career exploration
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate Academy instructors to ensure best outcomes for the Academies.
  • Collaborate with the subject matter experts to expand the Colorado Health Careers Academy and oversee the development of the virtual job shadowing component of the Academies.
  • Coordinate the logistics and assessments for the Academies to meet program goals to include, but not limited to, number of participants, demographics, and completion rates.
  • Manage the apprenticeship cohorts who are interested in joining the available career pathways and registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs offered at community colleges across the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) after completing the Health Career Academies and graduating from high schools.
  • Project coordinator will assist pre-apprentices with navigating through the college application, onboarding, registration, payment, and completion.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Denver Opportunity Youth Initiative project team, Workforce Centers to attract Opportunity Youth to participate in the Colorado Health Career Academies that serve as pre-apprenticeship in health career exploration. Opportunity Youth, formerly referred to as “disconnected” youth, are adolescents and young adults who are neither in school nor working. The coordinator will serve as a case manager, helping Opportunity Youth with completing their high school equivalency tests, taking the next steps whether this by participating in career pathways and pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs offered by CCCS colleges or by helping them with employment in entry-level jobs in healthcare.
  • Work with CCCS system office to coordinate and manage pre-apprenticeship tracking.
  • Coordinate program evaluation and assessment, including student and industry partner experiences as well as data analysis on demographics and completion.
  • Establish processes and workflow documents to ensure effective day-to-day management of program.
  • Prepare and manage quarterly financial reports, and evaluation summaries.
  • Nurture relationships with project and community partners and with the program development and growth.
  • Investigate apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship opportunities beyond the Colorado Health Careers Collaborative.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
