Job Summary

The Year to Career Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the effective day-to-day management of the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant awarded to ACC from the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. This grant is awarded to community colleges and other institutions to develop and provide equitable education and training through workforce development programs and career pathways. Recipients of the grant build partnerships with local employers, community services, and other workforce entities to address disparities in workforce outcomes for marginalized and underrepresented populations.

The Coordinator works with the Director of Year to Career to engage with local and regional business and economic development groups to cultivate a robust network of partnerships aligned with ACCs core mission of student success. The Coordinator will identify and conduct outreach to employers within the healthcare and IT fields to promote the Year to Career Program and create opportunities for graduates. Additionally, the Coordinator will work closely with employers and the director to align micro-pathway offerings in healthcare and IT with industry needs. Project management duties involve maintaining databases, recruitment, developing strategies for student engagement, and contribute to the success of the project.

This is a grant-funded position through February 28, 2027. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. An equivalency will not count towards the two-year experience requirement.
  • Experience building relationships and engagement with industry or employer partners to support programmatic goals.
  • Experience supporting the development of apprenticeship programs or other work-based learning opportunities with employers.
  • Ability to interact and develop relationships with individuals of varying social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience with database entry.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel; ability to navigate digital tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in business administration, higher education administration, education, human services or a related field.
  • Experience working at a community college.
  • Experience establishing employment partnerships that lead to job placement opportunities for students.
  • Experience with database management.

Physical & Cognitive Demands

The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports office materials and equipment weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
  • May be required to work out of any ACC campus location. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.
  • May require the ability to travel throughout ACC's service area to meet with workforce and community partners and promote the program.

Advertised Salary Range

Salary range for this position is $56,000 - $62,720, commensurate with education and experience. AP 3-45 provides information regarding salary placement and adjustments. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.

This is a grant-funded position through Feb. 28, 2027. Continuation of the position is contingent upon funding.
