Job Description:

BHCC is seeking dynamic adjunct faculty to teach in the Visual & Media Arts Department beginning Spring Semester.

VMA-124-200 Printmaking I  |  In-person, Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m-8:45 p.m.

This course is an introduction to a variety of printmaking processes including woodcut, monoprint, engraving, and dry point. Students will experiment with tools, materials and techniques in a studio environment. Through drawing, research, discussion, and critique, students will develop their own visual ideas and use printmaking as means of expression. This course meets the General Education requirement for Creative Work.

VMA-129-02 Visual Design with HTML & CSS  |  In-person, Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m.-3:45 p.m.

Visual Design students will learn typography, layout and design in the context of interactive media, using HTML and CSS as visual design tools. Through a variety of onscreen projects, students will build on typesetting and layout skills and practice the principals of interactive design. Projects will focus on web typography, fluid design, functional style, navigation, and kinetic typography on screen.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required. Master's degree preferred. 
  • A portfolio of professional work that demonstrates skills. 
  • Master's Degree in related field preferred or substantial relevant experience 
  • Commitment to advancing equity and access in the classroom. 
  • College teaching experience, especially at community college level, preferred. 
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

Salary: $1,291.00 per credit hour
