Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is a multi-campus institution with vibrant, urban campuses in Boston, Massachusetts, in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts, and at several satellites and instructional sites throughout the Greater Boston area. The largest of the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts, BHCC serves some 18,000 students annually, focusing on holistic student services to ensure student retention and persistence. The College offers certificates and associate degrees, early college and dual enrollment, non-credit community and corporate training, and industry-specific training programs. BHCC is the 8th most diverse higher education institution in the United States, and is an Asian American and Pacific Islander Serving Institution. Job Description:

The Assistant Dean for Data Strategy is a key leadership role responsible for oversight of institutional research functions within the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning. This position draws on various data collection procedures, information processing methods, analytical tools, data visualization, and reporting strategies to present information with clarity, validity, reliability, and value to support evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement efforts across BHCC. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Institutional Assessment and Planning, the Assistant Dean collaborates with faculty, administrators, and staff to promote a culture of evidence-based and data-driven decision-making. The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning reports mandated and requested data and information to BHCC, the State, the federal government, non-governmental and non-profit organizations that support higher education research, and advocacy organizations.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education, Business Analytics, educational research, statistics, social sciences, or related discipline). Doctorate preferred.
  • Three years or equivalent experience in institutional research or related roles within a higher education setting, including experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Experience with IPEDS, regional and professional accreditation reporting, state performance reporting systems; Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE), Achieving the Dream (ATD) Annual Reporting, and other higher education reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage institutional research initiatives and supervise research staff.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with data governance, warehousing, and reporting systems in higher education.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all institutional levels.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in research practices.
  • Strong knowledge of accreditation processes and compliance requirements in higher education.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Full State Benefits.
