Department/Division Purpose:
The Recruiting Department designs, develops, and implements student enrollment strategies for all PCC campuses/sites.

Job Summary Statement:
The Director of Recruitment oversees the daily activities of the Recruiting Office and designs, develops and implements a comprehensive recruiting strategy and related processes, to include community outreach activities, high school relations and student recruitment and enrollment at the College. The Director provides guidance to Recruiting staff regarding outreach activities and ensures that such recruiting activities are in alignment with the Colleges Strategic Plan.

This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with Department of Education guidelines. As a CSA, the incumbent is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety and must attend related annual training.

In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.


Job Duties

 

Essential Functions

  • Develops PCCs recruiting program by designing and overseeing the implementation of an institutional recruiting plan and program that includes specific strategies aligned with national standards, best practices and institutional needs.
  • Develops and coordinates innovative approaches to recruiting to achieve departmental and divisional goals.
  • Implements the tenets of the recruiting plan in alignment with the standards, objectives and strategies of PCCs strategic plan, the Guided Pathways initiative, and division and community needs.
  • Manages recruiting activities to represent PCC in a positive manner and promote diversity within recruiting efforts.
  • Supervises and manages the administrative and operational functions of the Office of Recruiting.
  • Supervises, assigns work tasks, and assesses the performance of Recruiting.
  • Works collaboratively with external stakeholders to develop targeted recruiting activities designed to recruit underserved populations.
  • Oversees and manages the Recruiter module to ensure proper tracking of prospects and the development and coordination of recruiting campaigns by creating and analyzing qualitative and quantitative reports that evaluate the effectiveness of overall recruiting activities and the accuracy of the data within the module.
  • Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop department-specific recruiting and outreach philosophies and activities, to include utilizing departmental scholarship dollars as a recruiting and enrollment incentive.
  • Plans and monitors department budgets to assure fiduciary responsibility and compliance with college and state regulations by:
    • Conducting frequent budget reviews;
    • Communicating budgets with staff and other necessary stakeholders;
    • Projecting and tracking expenditures;
    • Assessing needs and redirecting funds as needed.
  • Maintains Navigate appointment campaigns and messaging to prospective students to ensure seamless transition from recruitment to advising staff.

  • Complies with State Fiscal Rules, State Board policies, System and College protocols, and departmental procedures.
  • Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.
  • Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.
Serves on committees and other groups as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education
  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution in Marketing, Business or related field; Master's preferred

Experience
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience working in a recruiting environment in higher education.
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in budgeting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to student recruitment in higher education
  • Knowledge of strategic enrollment management principles.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and admissions practices within a higher education setting
  • Demonstrated analytical skills appropriate to a client information system
  • Ability to manage staff and operations in an organization which provides services to a diverse clientele
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Ellucian Banner a plus.
