The Student Belonging & Well-Being Coordinator supports student success by serving as a resource and advocate to all Davidson Davie Community College students. This position will assist with Accessibility Services, Student Accountability, Single Stop, Title IX, and Student Life activities. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Student Belonging & Well-Being, and will have the following responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

● Works directly with special student populations, such as students with a disability or pregnant students, on a one-on-one basis to help ensure retention and completion.

● Assists students with locating resources in the community that will help them holistically and remain in college.

● Create and implement programs and initiatives that enhance student well-being and a sense of belonging on campus.

● Collaborate with other departments to integrate well-being initiatives into the overall student experience.

● Respond to and manage crises affecting student well-being, collaborating with appropriate campus resources and emergency services when necessary.

● Provide training for faculty, staff, and student leaders on recognizing and addressing well-being concerns.

● Promote awareness of available resources and services.

● Partner with the Chief Diversity Officer on initiatives and projects

● Educate students on the institution's code of conduct, policies, and behavioral expectations.

● Develop and implement programs that address preventive measures, promoting positive behavior and ethical decision-making among students.

● Maintains accurate and current records on all students served, especially the data for special population students.

● Works collaboratively with other Directors of college departments/divisions at the college to help increase the completion rate of students within special populations.

● Collects data and other information to analyze needs and evaluate programs for annual program reviews.

● Serving as an advocate and/or advisor during the Student Accountability/Conduct process.

● Assists with student programming through creation, facilitation, and/or management.

● Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

● Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university

● 2 or more years of experience in a related role, preferably in student services, counseling, or a similar field.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Higher Education

● Bilingual

● Knowledge of Title IX and ADA Laws

● Basic knowledge or training in crisis intervention and mental health support

● Knowledge of mental health and well-being resources.

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

  • Thomasville, NC 27360: Relocate before starting work (Required)
