Job Description

 

The Human Resources Generalist works with a team of other HR professionals to deliver excellent, timely service to staff and faculty of the College. The Generalist will provide guidance and solutions to employees and assist in the development of department goals and objectives to support a high-performance culture that increases employee engagement.

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for working on a wide range of human resources functions, and may be called upon to:

  • Support the HR team with special projects as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating and reviewing HR policies and procedures.
  • Serve as primary liaison between human resources and payroll teams.
  • Provide support on employee relations and compliance issues.
  • Assist in the development and administration of compensation strategy and performance management.
  • Review and respond to general unemployment agency inquires.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and other training programs when needed.
  • Conduct interviews for candidates and for the separation process.
  • Review HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle recruiting and other staffing logistics.
  • Conduct performance management and improvement initiatives.
  • Work on employee orientation; employee engagement; and employee recognition programs.
  • Assist with compensation reviews and salary administration.
  • Ensure that regulatory compliance and reporting remain up to date.

The successful candidate will be a customer-service-focused HR professional and team player, with a demonstrated ability to work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, possess excellent independent judgement and problem-solving skills, maintain a high level of confidentiality.

The successful candidate will work effectively and respectfully with individuals at all organizational levels, be adept at listening and communicating, be able to work independently and as part of a team, have strong analytical and decision-making skills; and demonstrate an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field required.
  • Demonstrated successful experience as a human resources generalist or human resources specialist required.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a team-based, results-driven environment required.
  • Excellent independent judgment and problem-solving capabilities required.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines required.
  • Knowledge of Workday for Human Resources or similar enterprise-system preferred.
  • SHRM-CP Human Resources certification or equivalent Human Resources certification preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office required; data analytics and knowledge of HRIS systems preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,192.00 - $57,564.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

  • Perrysburg, OH 43551: Relocate before starting work (Required)
