Human Resources Recruiter
Overview:
The HR Recruiter provides both administrative and front-line support to upper management on all recruiting related matters. The HR Recruiter manages recruitment and the interview process, including logging and filing of employment applications, interview score cards, candidate application tracking, job postings, candidate communication, scheduling interviews, and assisting with performing interviews.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Post open positions on the CState employment website, various job boards and advertising outlets.
  • Attend various career fairs and events at local universities, colleges, etc. to attract potential applicants and promote CState. Organize and manage career fairs located at Cincinnati State.
  • Recruit, assist with interviews, and place candidates in open positions.
  • Evaluate the candidates skills, employment history, license and certification, and background checks.
  • Document employee hire, on-boarding, transition, and termination processes.
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process and during employment.
  • Communicate with hiring managers on a daily/weekly basis to fill open positions in a timely manner, according to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Perform weekly and monthly meetings with hiring managers.
  • Make sure all new hire forms are completed correctly before start date.
  • Work with payroll to enter and make payroll corrections to employees pay advices.
  • Assist payroll with rectifying wage issues, enter stipends, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining an organizing a productive and healthy work environment.
  • Ensure diversity in hiring across the entire College, and communicate how this is being achieved during bi-weekly meetings.
  • Ensure accuracy and follow documentation procedures for all work; maintain notebook of daily activities and provide bi-weekly KPI reports of work to Director of Human Resources.
  • Provide bi-weekly KPI reports of recruitment statistics to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Send and manage hiring manager and new hire surveys.
  • Maintain compliance (i.e., files, emails, checklists, etc.) within the HR Department and the College.
  • Provide administrative assistance as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in relevant field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent relevant professional experience in human resources.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office: Intermediate proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of effective recruiting strategies, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Flexible schedule that permits occasional weekend and/or evening hours as business needs demand.
  • Ability to pick up, carry, move materials weighing 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work remotely, including access to an internet connection, if the need arises.
  • Ability to travel to any of the Colleges campuses located in Cincinnati (Clifton), Evendale, Middletown and Harrison.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in a related field of expertise.
  • SHRM certification
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague/Datatel enterprise management system.
  • HR experience within a Community College or higher education institution.
  • HR experience within a collective bargaining environment.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce routine reports and correspondence and speak before a group.

  • Ability to travel to various universities and colleges for career fairs and other HR events.
  • Ability to handle multiple open job openings.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, respond to changing situations in a flexible manner, manage competing demands and deal with frequent interruptions, delays or unexpected events.
  • High degree of professional integrity, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow all College policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate/interact effectively with a diverse professional, community, and student population to provide a good impression of the College.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, work independently, and be a team player.
  • Excellent customer service skills in analytical problem solving and the ability to be innovative with demonstrated commitment to organizational effectiveness.
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer skills.
 
Details:
Reports To: Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development
Compensation: $54,200.00/yr.
Contract Affiliation: Non-Bargaining (Confidential Position)
Status: Fulltime
Classification: Exempt
