Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 The LEAD Center Coordinator for Title V LEAD grant is responsible for the planning, coordinating and organizing a variety of LEAD Center services and activities to assist students and facilitate their educational goals.
 
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the creation of the LEAD Center with the Activity Director.
  2. Coordinate day-to-day activities of the LEAD Center to ensure efficiency of operations, assists in the implementation of goals and objectives of the grant, and implement policies and procedures. 
  3. Prepare and deliver LEAD Center literature/presentations on services available to potential students and parents in various settings in the community in English and Spanish.
  4. Provide weekly written reports to Activity Director.
  5. Coordinate Summer Bridge, special events and community activities for the project.
  6. Oversee development and implementation of LEAD Center and students portfolios. 
  7. Support the eLearning Wellness Hub as needed
  8. Maintain grant records, initiate purchase requisitions, contracts, general office and clerical duties.
  9. Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Associate Vice President of Student Success & Support Services, Project Director, and/or Activity Director.

Required:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  •  Three years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably working with underrepresented Hispanics and knowledge of current learning theories. 
  • Experience working with and advising Hispanic students and first-generation college students.
  • Must have a valid Texas Drivers License

Preferred:
  • Masters degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Experience in educational grant programs or social service setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without reasonable accomodation, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Physical Requirements  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.  
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
