DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health is seeking an outstanding pharmacy technician to work as a Pharmacy Technician III to support Investigational Drug Service. The job will perform a full range of duties. Must be able to perform all general tasks in all areas of pharmacy. Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for patient use according to established procedures; assist in the distribution of medications; performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions; maintain inventory levels; and perform other duties as assigned. Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in the assigned areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB).

  • Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in a hospital inpatient setting.

  • Experience in project management/system responsibility (e.g. Pyxis, narcotic control, QI, or pharmacy buyer/biller/analyst); OR is a Pharmacy School graduate; OR expanded responsibilities over several areas OR possess a Pharmacy Intern License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Investigational Drug Service.
  • Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work variable shifts to include weekends, holidays & overtime as required.
  • Must be willing to rotate to all pharmacy areas/sites.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $62,640 - $77,862 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.00 - $37.29

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
