The Department of Educational Psychology addresses themes of cognition, behavior, and emotion within our society by generating research, disseminating knowledge, and preparing a diverse body of scholars who take leadership in their fields while enhancing the development and effective functioning of individuals, schools, and families.
This position is responsible for implementing, coordinating, and organizing activities and services that support the mission of the UNT ELEVAR program. Adherence to all College University, and state and federal, and funding and compliance guidelines and regulations are expected. The position ensures the quality of all UNT ELEVAR activities and services including adapting to inclusive post-secondary education program standards at the state and federal levels. The position has responsibility for fiscal oversight, including seeking external funding and developing contracts that ensure the financial viability of programs. As part of a Minority-Serving and Hispanic-Serving institution, the position is responsible for building an inclusive environment for students with disabilities and other marginalized communities (e.g., students of color).
- A minimum requirement of having doctoral degree in special education or a related field; ABD will be considered.
- At least 2 years of experience working with young adults/students with intellectual disabilities in an educational and/or related setting;
- Experience designing and implementing assessment of learning outcomes for young adults with intellectual disabilities;
- Experience addressing the needs of young adults with intellectual disabilities in a post-secondary education program within an institution of higher education or at a high school.
- Plan, conduct, and implement evidence-based practices for students with intellectual disabilities
- Experience working with students and families from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds as well as other marginalized populations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate effective plans, programs, policies, and practices related to the education of students/young adults with disabilities;
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent interpersonal communication, written reports and correspondence, and presentations for large and small audiences;
- Ability to plan, conduct, and implement evidence-based practices and assessments for students with disabilities
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate effective plans, programs, policies, and practices related to the education of students/young adults with intellectual
disabilities; - Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent interpersonal communication, written reports and correspondence, and presentations for large and small audiences;
- Knowledge of research, theories, literature, and trends in educational programs for students with disabilities and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
- Strong background of supporting students from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds as well as other marginalized populations in higher education, K-12 schools, or in the community.
- Experience carrying out, managing, or coordinating projects or programs for individuals with disabilities in higher education
- Writing and managing grants, especially federally funded and/or multi-million dollar grants
- Experience in collaborating with state and local Vocational Rehabilitation agencies to support employment for people with disabilities
- Knowledge of research, theories, literature, and trends in accommodations, modifications, and other supports for students with disabilities at a four-year public institution
- Experience with fundraising or involvement in donor events
- Experiences with planning, conducting and implementing research studies
8 am to 5 pm, some evenings and/or some weekends.

Manage all administrative tasks, timelines, and record-keeping associated with implementing and maintaining the UNT ELEVAR Program, including but not limited to daily programming, teaching workshops, facilitating internships, providing experiential opportunities for students, organizing events, and supervising program staff.
Lead, coordinate, and oversee all activities of the UNT ELEVAR program admissions, orientations, and overall programming.
Allocates resources to ensure that program deliverables occur consistent with the parameters of each program funding requirement and following the mission and vision of the University.
Develops methods and ensures utilization of evaluation/assessment data to determine effectiveness of the program and student growth.
Plans, assigns, and supervises professional and support staff including hiring and selection, assigning work, performance evaluation, personnel and discipline actions, and scheduling/leave approval.
Collaborates with UNT ELEVAR Program and campus partners (e.g., principal investigators, leadership team, faculty, Residence Life staff, Office of the Registrar, Student Affairs staff, communications, Financial Aid Office of Undergraduate Education, Dean of Students) to ensure effective and timely implementation of all aspects of the UNT ELEVAR Program.
Provide oversight for communication between the UNT ELEVAR Program and constituents and stakeholders (e.g., dissemination of information through social media, website).
Participate in meetings related to UNT ELEVAR and represent the program at university and external events as appropriate.
Properly manage large budgets (over $500,000).
Write and manage federally funded grants and other funding opportunities (e.g., foundation grants).
Plan and participate in fundraising efforts for the program (e.g., travel to meet donors, present at development events).
