The Board of Trustees of National Park College (NPC) is seeking applications for the position of President. The next president will enjoy leading a successful, financially stable, and well-respected community college and will have the opportunity to work within a shared governance model that includes an elected Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, and an engaged community of stakeholders. The ability to foster a shared vision among these stakeholders is paramount, with an unwavering commitment to nurturing a learning-centered environment that seamlessly integrates professional learning experiences and the workforce. The next president will collaborate with these groups to establish educational and administrative policies and practices that will best support NPCs mission: “Learning is our focus; student success is our goal.”
 
The President will be expected to build upon the strong foundation established by current and previous administrations, embracing the Colleges role as a comprehensive community college and leader of economic growth in the region. While academic credentials are valued and a terminal degree expected, it is imperative that the President comprehends the multifaceted nature of the Colleges operations, both from academic and business perspectives. Through positive leadership, the president will ensure the efficient and effective use of all College resources to ensure quality and integrity in strategic planning and outcomes.
 
National Park Colleges President will:
  • Set the highest example for professional integrity for the campus community and students as a foundation for the NPC campus culture.
  • Provide support and leadership for the Presidents Cabinet, the faculty, staff, and students as required with an aim to continuously improve the campuss working and learning culture.
  • Support the mission of the College by ensuring the availability of financial, physical, and technological resources.
  • Establish a disciplined, innovative, and strategic direction for National Park College, utilizing the wisdom and experience of the Board of Trustees, community, faculty, and staff.
  • Provide stewardship for NPCs primary directive for student success by hearing the voice of students and supporting initiatives which improve success metrics.
  • Make decisions with courage, transparency, and collaboration within the tenets of shared governance.
  • Effectively advance NPCs High Priority Objectives, improving on the benchmarks established by the Board of Trustees.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with the states other two- and four-year institutions of higher education, the Arkansas Community Colleges organization, and all federal, state, and local elected officials.
  • Celebrate and promote NPCs successes in the news media, social media, and in the community.
  • Maintain successful relationships with NPCs elected Board of Trustees to ensure that the Colleges governance systems, policy, and presence remain vital.
  • Provide oversight for the Colleges integrated budget and strategic planning process, master plan, and facilities management strategies.
  • Provide support for the Colleges strategic enrollment management plan, including engagement, support systems, and retention programming.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Five years of successful experience in higher education administration, preferably in a comprehensive community college setting.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience leading the functional areas of a college campus, including credit and non-credit academic programming; student success initiatives such as housing, food service, and intercollegiate athletics; facilities management; technology management; and strategic financial planning.
