West Shore Community College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Adjunct Professor to teach face-to-face, in-person Composition courses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in English composition, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering student learning and academic growth. Part-time faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester-by-semester basis as needed.
Job Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the diverse needs of our student population.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments to promote academic excellence and improvement.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills.
- Maintain academic standards and address all provided student learning objectives.
- Prepare up-to-date course syllabus and materials in accordance with college guidelines.
- Monitor student progress and meet with students outside of class as needed.
- Use the learning management system to post course materials and grades.
- Enter final course grades online.
Qualifications
Must possess a Masters degree in English, Composition, Rhetoric, or a related discipline.
Wage pay for this position is based on degree and course contact hours. EOE
