The department is  seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Development Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to our advancement team.
Responsibilities:
  • Process gifts efficiently and accurately to ensure seamless donor transactions.
  • Implement weekly stewardship activities to express gratitude and foster strong relationships with our valued donors.
  • Generate reports and assist in data analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Provide comprehensive support for donor and volunteer communications, ensuring timely and personalized interactions.
  • Assist with alumni relations initiatives to engage our diverse network of graduates.
  • Support board and committee activities by coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and facilitating communications.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity in our constituent management system, DAVIE.

Minimum Experience/Education

High school diploma and two years of administrative experience in an office setting.

Department Required Skills

  • Proficient in database management, with experience in utilizing proprietary software systems such as UNC Chapel Hills DAVIE platform.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for creating, editing, and analyzing data and reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing and maintaining database records to ensure data integrity and reliability.
  • Ability to efficiently navigate and utilize proprietary software tools specific to UNC Chapel Hills administrative processes and protocols.
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot database issues, optimize system performance, and implement solutions effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members, provide user support, and convey technical information clearly to stakeholders


Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Prior administrative experience in fundraising within a higher education or nonprofit environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with database management systems, with specific experience in UNC DAVIE considered a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with UNC and its organizational structure is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
