The division clerk provides bookkeeping support to the dean, secretary, faculty, and students, as well as oversees the day-to-day operations of the faculty pool for the division office.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and one year of clerical and general office experience; or a minimum of 30 college credit hours
- Knowledge of general office equipment, including reproduction equipment
- Computer literacy, including Excel, Microsoft Windows, and Office
- Strong bookkeeping, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college-level courses
Essential Functions
- Perform general clerical duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors
- Perform all bookkeeping duties
- Submit purchase orders and travel requisitions
- Submit requests for general maintenance, computer issues, and van requests
- Maintain equipment inventory records
- Assist in the maintenance of all division files
- Prepare monthly expense reports for paper charges
- Oversee equipment maintenance
- Keep pool organized
- Maintain and order supplies for faculty and division
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to move to other locations on campus occasionally
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds
- Duties indoors and some outdoors
- Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events
