Job Description

The Hope College Department of Philosophy invites applications for a position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy beginning in Fall 2024. The Area of Specialization is open. An Area of Concentration in Social/Political Philosophy is a plus. Job responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester. Every effort will be made to keep this to two course preparations per semester. Courses will include general education, introductory philosophy, and intermediate level courses.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Philosophy by time of appointment.

Physical Demands

This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
