The Communications Department is seeking a Technical Communications Project Manager to lead projects in support of the Research & Exploratory Development Department (REDD).

 

As a Technical Communications Project Manager...

  • Manage and support execution of creative communications campaigns.
  • Regularly develop estimates and communicate budgetary impacts to stakeholders.
  • Build trust with Lab partners by demonstrating reliability, authenticity and transparency.
  • Translate complex projects and events into well-executed and visually compelling deliverables.
  • Manage external events through collaboration with cross-department, cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Lead teams in all project phases – planning through delivery – while managing project requirements.
  • Establish and manage project scope by determining and prioritizing requirements with stakeholders and Communications Department resources.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and an ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and needs as projects evolve and expand throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Collaborate frequently with the Communications Strategists and other Communications Department project managers to ensure the teams continual upholding of Lab and Department-wide best practices.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • A Bachelors degree in communications, business administration, operations, or a related field; or equivalent year of experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing people.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, critical thinking and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing multifaceted situations and collaborating across complex organizations.
  • Experience working with creative teams in a dynamic environment.
  • An ability to operate independently, set priorities, and adjudicate competing needs in a fast-paced organization.
  • The ability to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

 

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • An active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Expertise in crafting efficient workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated event management experience
  • Worked with government, DoD, academic, or scientific research staff.
