Associate Program Director, Athletics CommunicationJob Description
Notre Dame Athletics is committed to building a diverse workforce passionate about maximizing the student-athlete experience. Our pillars of Education; Excellence; Faith; Tradition; and Community guide us in the work we do each day. We are eager to attract, recruit, and retain individuals who positively contribute to a collaborative, inclusive working environment where all may thrive.
Building on the Universitys Spirit of Inclusion, we are committed to the work needed to cultivate sustainable progress and change. As a prospective member of Notre Dame Athletics, we encourage you to apply if you embrace, embody, and demonstrate a commitment to the aforementioned values.
You will be a resource for a selection of our 750 student-athletes as they claim their individual voices in a sea of collegiate sports narratives. By forging strong relationships and embedding yourself within assigned programs (baseball and other program(s)), you will discern the personalities and stories that set the Notre Dame student-athlete apart from the rest of the athletics landscape.
This role will combine traditional athletic communications functions with a skill set that requires you to build relationships with student-athletes in order to amplify their personal brand, the programs brand and the Notre Dame Athletics brand. You will help maintain your teams social media accounts, creating engaging, in-moment content to connect fans with the student-athletes, coaches, and teams. As Notre Dames Associate Athletics Communications Director, you will be a resource to your student-athletes, educating them on the media landscape, social media and traditional media perception. Additionally, your role as an Associate Director requires you to play a larger role in media relations/public relations for your respective teams as they have an increased media spotlight cast upon them. Ability to build relationships with your program(s) is non-negotiable to be successful in this position.
Present at each of their events, you will be the primary contact between your assigned programs and Fighting Irish Media. You will manage the press box, media requests and interview opportunities for your student-athletes and coaches. As an expert in content creation and consumption behaviors, you will know how best to connect the stories your student-athletes are excited to help tell with the audience that craves their authentic voice.
