Consider joining the Social Science and Human Services Department at Rogue Community College, where we value engaging teaching methods that inspire and involve students. We are currently seeking a part-time Human Services Instructor to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about collaborating to enhance student success, creating interactive learning experiences, and fostering a supportive learning environment that inspires students' critical thinking. This is an adjunct faculty pool for teaching in the Social Science and Human Services department. The pool will remain open until June 2025 unless positions are no longer needed. Applications will be reviewed and candidates will be contacted and interviewed as positions become available. If at any time you decide that you are no longer interested in being considered, you may log in to the system and withdraw your application from the pool. Typically at the end of the academic year (or at any point we no longer have a hiring need for this department), we will close this pool and you will receive an email notification. Instructor is responsible for the planning and implementation of various Human Services courses. Instructor is required to create a course syllabus, instruct students in the subject matter in accordance with that syllabus, maintain attendance records, assess student progress and evaluate course work for a letter grade. Instructor will maintain college standards in all aspects of professionalism, record keeping and instruction within the team atmosphere of the social science department of Rogue Community College.
Supervision Received The dean, in consultation with the department chair is responsible for carrying out the evaluation of instructors under procedures developed by the vice president. The dean confers with the department chair in decisions regarding instructor workload, professional growth, retention, and department staffing levels.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Instructs students in a classroom, lab, learning center, or other setting as appropriate using active learning approaches that both engage and facilitate student learning. Prepares, distributes, and utilizes instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and other devices as appropriate. Develops, communicates, and utilizes a student assessment process and instruments which are related to the stated objectives of the course. Adapt learning procedures to the online/distance learning environment, including web-based delivery, ensuring comparable quality of instruction, student-teacher interaction, and assessment with classroom-based courses. May participate as a team member in departmental meetings and planning activities. Communicate effectively with a wide variety of students and college staff. Responsible for departmental equipment and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate to the department. Participates in curriculum planning and development and outcomes and assessment activities as needed. Organize the learning experience for the maximum benefit of traditional and non-traditional learners. Maintain regular and responsive communication with students, the department, and the college. Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques. Pursue professional development to stay current in the field of Human Services and utilize best practices for teaching and learning. Understand and commit to the community college vision and mission.Performs other duties as assigned.

Method of Application & Closing DateThis is an adjunct faculty pool for teaching part-time in the Social Science department. The application documents required include a cover letter, resume , and unofficial transcripts indicating the level of degree earned. Candidates will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree(s) upon hire. Compensation is based on the Rogue Community College Adjunct Faculty Salary Schedule 24-25. This pool will remain open until June 2025 unless positions are no longer needed.
