Title of Position: Nursing Faculty Member – Fall 2025 Start (08/18/2025)

Bargaining Unit/Salary Range: MEA Faculty; Starting Salary: $51,067.06 - $57,476.43 (Dependent upon qualifications and experience).

Job Summary: EMCC is seeking full-time faculty member(s) for our Nursing program. Responsibilities include 30 hours face to face of didactic per semester and then an additional 168 hours per semester of clinical (lab, clinical or simulation) face to face time. (Or an adjusted total of 198 hours face to face per semester, with additional responsibility to include department meetings/committees, student advising, and the opportunity for campus organizations/committees exists. Faculty are responsible for developing, modifying, and assessing curricula; continuously improving teaching methodology and student-centered learning; staying current in the field; advising and maintaining scheduled availability to students; participating with other faculty in developing and managing courses, curricula and academic policy; participating in department and college activities, including committee work and college service; and other professional duties related to the position that contribute to the success of the Department and College.

Minimum Qualifications: MS in Nursing required (will accept applicants with a BSN who are currently enrolled in an MSN program). Must be licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Maine and have a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in nursing. Ideal candidates will have recent clinical experience, including SIM experience (preferred). Demonstrated teaching ability.  Desire and ability to motivate students.  Willingness and ability to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practice. 3-5 years nursing experience in medical /surgical area and CPR certification required.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Curriculum, subject matter, and equipment/technology related to the assigned area of responsibility.
  • College procedures and practices, including related federal and state laws.
  • Electronic course delivery methods and instructional techniques.
  • Quantitative and qualitative measures to assess student learning outcomes.
  • Student retention and engagement strategies.
