We seek qualified instructors to provide classroom instruction in Adult Education and GED preparation.
Description of All Duties:
To prepare and/or follow appropriate syllabi, develop lessons, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students' educational experience.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. Oral English proficiency for classroom instruction is required.
Basic skill level with Microsoft Office and computers required.
Previous teaching experience with adult learners is helpful.
Black Hawk College is accepting applications to form a pool of qualified candidates for the Spring 2014 semester.
Salary for instructors and presenters is commensurate with education and experience.
Depending on the longevity of the adjunct/presenter assignment and the number of equated hours or contact hours taught, the instructor may be eligible for membership in the bargaining unit as well as eligible for limited benefits such as tuition waiver and sick days.
Instructors/Presenters teaching in contact hours are paid at an hourly rate. The minimum starting hourly rate is $15.00 per hour.
Instructors teaching in equated hours are paid at a per equated hour rate. The minimum starting equated hour rate is $405 per equated hour. For example, if you teach a class that is 4 equated hours, you would be paid a total of $1620. Pay is equally spread out over the length of the semester.
