Student ServicesGeneral Summary
The Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) are part-time, on campus positions within the division of Student Services & Enrollment Management. The LPCs will provide direct counseling, consultation and intervention to students.
Specific Position Duties
Maintain a regular appointment schedule for student support on campus and during the college operating hours
Provide assessment and mental health counseling services.
Refer specific crisis issues to appropriate agencies and services.
Provide short term personal counseling services for students and develop treatment plans
Maintain appropriate and confidential records
Respond to campus mental health emergencies and provide crisis counseling as needed

Maximum 19 hours per week
Flexible between:
8:00 am – 7 pm, Monday through Thursday
8:00 am – 5 pm, Friday
9 am – noon, Saturday

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in counseling, social work, or related field
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas or Licensed Professional Intern (employment contingent to attainment of license)
Experience with adult clients
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with students
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Knowledge of privacy practices including HIPAA and FERPA
Strong technical skills including Microsoft office suite, social networking tools, and online assessment
