The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, as the chief student affairs officer for the College, will report directly to the Chancellor and serve as a member of the Chancellor’s executive leadership team. The Vice Chancellor will provide visionary and strategic leadership to a complex division that encompasses multiple campuses and teaching sites throughout the district. The Vice Chancellor will be engaged in a vital partnership with academic affairs to shape an exceptional student experience that demonstrates high levels of student engagement, learning and success. The Vice Chancellor provides administrative and managerial oversight in the following areas: enrollment management, advising, assessment, athletics, behavioral intervention, campus life, career development, counseling, financial aid, student success initiatives, international student affairs, student conduct, Title IX, TRIO programs and veteran services.

St. Louis Community College District seeks applications for the position of Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding and commitment to meeting the distinct needs of learners in a diverse urban setting and provide administrative and managerial oversight.
COMPREHENSIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provides leadership for the entire enrollment management strategy for the College, including the development of a strategic enrollment plan, and oversight and/or coordination and alignment of all enrollment management functions, including but not limited to processes associated with application, admissions, registration, financial aid, new student orientation, and effective communication among all relevant employee groups and departments associated with the enrollment management function.
•Maximizes technology to support all services related to student success, including online application and registration processes.
•Deploys continuous improvement methods for all operational aspects of student affairs.
•Ensures an effective district office staffing structure is in place to provide campuses with back office function for admissions and registration.
•Implements and continuously improves business processes that result in an exemplary student matriculation experience.
•Provides vision and integrity and works effectively with the Chancellor to further the interest, mission and goals of the college, and ensures that student affairs is fully aligned with the larger mission, vision, values and goals of the institution.
•Participates in college wide strategic planning processes and corresponding budget development and fiscal management for student affairs.
•Serves as a principal champion for all students and strongly advocates for student centeredness in institutional planning and policy development.
•Cultivates effective team leadership through demonstrating and expecting transparent communication that drives consensus building, accountability, trust, collaboration and respect.
•Ensures quality professional development for student affairs staff and administrators.
•Provides leadership to the College community with expertise in student affairs programming, innovative solutions and national best practices.
•Engages the College community across the district through open communication and collaboration to create an inclusive and supportive environment.
•Leads collaborative efforts with academic affairs to improve student life and learning and enhanced student goal attainment.
•Engages partners in area K-12 schools and communities to promote student development programs that close the gap on student participation and success.
•Creates effective teams to deliver, monitor, assess and improve critical programs and services to students.
•Establishes clear standards, goals and outcomes for all units in student affairs with corresponding assessment and improvement plans.
•Develops accountability systems that ensure College compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
•Leads student affairs to demonstrate excellence related to maintaining a positive accreditation status.
•Provides intelligence to college decision makers including the Board of Trustees through reports and presentations as requested by the Chancellor.
•Establishes a productive working relationship with College constituencies and participatory governance groups to promote understanding and cooperation in the development of policy and procedures responsive to changing student needs.
•Maintains effectual working relationships with district and campus level administrators in addressing the comprehensive needs of the college community.
•Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chancellor.
