1-Year Full Time Biology Instructor


ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary:
The 1-year temporary assignment for a Biology Instructor is responsible for teaching 12 credit hours of college level laboratory & lecture courses. The person in this position could be expected to teach lower division sections of General Biology & Anatomy and Physiology I & II laboratories and lecture, or possibly Pathophysiology & introductory Microbiology. Courses are for both non-majors and majors at the undergraduate level. As part of the standard teaching load, the instructor will be responsible for organizing some of the preparation of their laboratories. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; some assigned courses may be taught on-line, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Teach 12 credits.
Utilize D2L for course syllabus and grade book.
Prep laboratories.
Prepare and grade assignments, quizzes and exams.

Other duties associated with instruction.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum; Masters in Biology (or related discipline).
  • Preferred; Experience teaching 100-200 level college courses.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching: General Biology and Human Anatomy & Physiology lectures and laboratories.

Salary: $44,000.00 - 45,000.00. Commensurate with education and experience. Excellent health and retirement benefits
