Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Office of International Affairs is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Global Learning Operations to support programming and resource development for staff, faculty, and departments as they seek to embed project-based, innovative, technology enabled global learning opportunities within their curriculum. The graduate assistant will support the Global Learning team in the iterative design and development of resources and training programs to assist in the university’s pursuit of global learning for all students.

Core Responsibilities for the Graduate Assistant for Global Learning Operations include:

  • Assist with the design and implementation of global learning training for faculty and departments
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a global learning faculty support administrative system
  • Assist in the planning and logistics for faculty and department global learning training events (registration, attendance, space reservations and setup, etc.)
  • Organize and update resources and content for online resources (Global Classrooms Website and Global Learning Hub)
  • Review and revise current global learning training materials to adapt to new innovations in international education
  • Opportunities to conduct desk research and co-facilitate sessions supporting faculty and department global learning needs
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a University of Maryland, College Park graduate program
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

Preferences:

  • Experience designing and facilitating educational programs and experiences
  • Participation in a global learning experience (Global Classroom or virtual exchange, international academic study, or completion of globally oriented coursework)
  • Interest or experience in faculty support programming
  • A collaborative mindset; genuine interest in cultivating and managing partnerships
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and complete tasks autonomously
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team

This is a 12-month full-time position.
