Cathy Maxwell named academic affairs vice chancellor at Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast in Fort Wayne has selected Cathy Maxwell, Ed.D., as its new Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. She will assume her role on Monday, April 16.
Maxwell will provide vision, leadership, coaching and direction to all academic employees for the delivery and/or revision of quality academic programs. She will plan, organize and administer all academic programs and services in concert with the mission, purposes, resources and facilities at Ivy Tech–Northeast that serves more than 12,000 students each semester and more than 17,000 students annually. Ivy Tech’s northeast region is the second-largest in the Ivy Tech system and serves nine counties in northeast Indiana.
In her role, Maxwell will serve as chief advisor to Chancellor Jerrilee K. Mosier, Ed.D., in the formation of policies affecting academic programs. As the academic officer for the Northeast region, she will identify areas for development, coordination, staffing, evaluation and continuous quality improvement of academic programs.
Maxwell most recently served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Bauder College in Atlanta, Ga., where she was responsible for program and curriculum development, enrollment, retention and graduation management. Maxwell led more than 100 who worked in all aspects of academics including instruction, registrar functions, student services, advising, tutoring and library services. During her time at Bauder College, she reorganized the academic divisions of the college. Maxwell also created and executed a revamped master course schedule to efficiently deliver classes to students, to maximize facility usage and to effectively schedule faculty course loads. Bauder College is a private institution owned by The Washington Post and is part of the Kaplan Higher Education system.
