Alabama's two-year college system forgoes using search firm, will post job for 30 days to find next chancellor

At the request of Gov. Robert Bentley, the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education has withdrawn the announcement seeking applications for a new two-year college chancellor.

No reason was given for the withdrawal. The Board of Education will now discuss the process for selecting a new chancellor at its April meeting.

The board had decided Thursday to forgo using a search firm, instead opting to post the position for 30 days and accept resumes as they come in.

Because of Alabama's public records law, that means the public would have access to the applications as the board accepts them.
