The Berkshire Community College Presidential Search Committee has selected nine candidates to be interviewed as semifinalists in its search for a new leader.
The group met on Tuesday to reviews its top 15 candidates, based on each committee members’ evaluation and ranking of the applicants. At the end of the meeting, each member listed his or her top choices, and ultimately, the list was narrowed to nine candidates.
The nine will be invited to interview with the search committee on Friday and Saturday at an off-campus location. All meetings of the search committee and the BCC Board of Trustees are public under the open meeting law.
"From there, the charge to the committee is to submit at least three candidates to the Board of Trustees," said Board Chairwoman Susan Lombard.

The trustees will then work in consultation with the state’s Board of Higher Education. The BCC trustees choice for a president is subject to final approval, which will be considered at the BHE meeting on June 19.
