Tawnya Beermann, new associate dean of students at Western Iowa Tech
Tawnya Beermann has been named associate dean of students at Western Iowa Tech Community College.
She will be responsible for a number of student services including admissions, advising, registration, financial aid, disability services, retention, and the One Stop Center.
Other duties include the resolution of student issues and advocacy on behalf of students.
Beermann joined WITCC in 1997 as counselor for the TRIO Student Support Services program. In 1999, she was appointed associate director for the college’s TRIO Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search programs. She was promoted to the position of director of these programs in 2000. In 2006 she transitioned to become the director for TRIO-Student Support Services and the Student Success Center.
For the past four years, Beermann has served as a facilitator for the College Experience course, WITCC’s orientation course for new students.
