Claudia Schrader named provost at Bronx Community College
Bronx Community College President Carole M. Berotte Joseph announced today the appointment of Dr. Claudia V. Schrader as Bronx Community College’s new vice president for Academic Affairs and provost.
“I am elated that Dr. Schrader was interested in joining BCC and am eager to collaborate with her on making BCC a premiere community college,” Dr. Berotte Joseph said of the self-described “assessment driven” administrator. “Her experiences in teaching and learning, her focus on outcomes assessment and accountability, as well as her support for faculty development and international studies make her an ideal candidate for supporting my vision for BCC. Together, with the other members of my leadership team, I look forward to a great future of strong academic leadership at BCC.”
Dr. Schrader comes to BCC from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, where she served as the associate provost for Academic Development. During her tenure at Medgar Evers College, Dr. Schrader served as the associate provost and assistant provost and deputy department chair of the Education Department. She held faculty rank as an associate professor at both William Paterson University and Medgar Evers College.
