Michael McDonough to lead Raritan Valley Community College
Dr. Michael John McDonough, who has served as provost and vice president of academic services at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY for the past three years, has been named as the new president of Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) effective June 2.
The RVCC Board of Trustees today approved the appointment of McDonough—who began his academic career as an English professor and has served in leadership positions at Monroe Community College since 2007—to serve as the College’s eighth president.
He replaces Dr. Casey Crabill, who resigned in June 2013 to accept the presidency of Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY.
“Dr. McDonough is a dynamic, creative leader who has extensive experience in dealing with the challenges and opportunities facing community colleges,” said Dr. Paul Hirsch, chairman of the RVCC Board of Trustees. “He brings to this position an impressive record of success in developing innovative academic programs, supporting faculty development, advancing student retention and success, securing grant funding and forging community partnerships.
We welcome Dr. McDonough and look forward to working together to build on the College’s successes and lay the foundation for future growth and greater opportunities for our students and the communities we serve.”
