New Pima Community College provost Erica Holmes
Pima Community College named Erica C. Holmes, a Chicago community college administrator, as its new provost and executive vice chancellor for academic and student services on Tuesday.
At her most recent position as vice president of academic and student affairs at Kennedy-King College, one of seven colleges in the City Colleges of Chicago system, Holmes "led her community college through the reaffirmation of its accreditation and its enrollment management efforts, resulting in record student growth and retention," a spokesman said in a press release.
“With a decade in higher education leadership, Erica has the combination of skills and talents Pima needs at this pivotal moment,” Chancellor Lee D. Lambert said the release. “I believe her recognized ability to make data-driven decisions and the value she places on strategic planning will make her an integral member of the College’s leadership team.”
Holmes will begin her new position on July 1st pending governing board approval.
Holmes will take over from Zelema Harris, who has acted as PCC's provost since last November, when Jerry Migler stepped down to become the vice president of academic affairs for the Colorado Community College System.
