Lower Columbia College trustees will conduct a nationwide search to find a president who can continue to meet the demands of local students and the community during challenging budgetary times, Board Chair Heidi Heywood announced at Wednesday's monthly trustee meeting.
Dr. Jim McLaughlin, president at the college since 1997, announced this week that he plans to retire effective September 2011.
LCC Trustee Max Anderson will lead a presidential search committee comprised of faculty, staff, students and community members.
