December 15, 2010
The Brunswick Community College Board of Trustees appointed G. Frank Sells as interim president to replace outgoing President Stephen Greiner at a special meeting Tuesday morning.
The decision to appoint the former Surry Community College president comes after Greiner announced he will be leaving to take a position as president of Hazard Community and Technical College in Kentucky on Jan. 1.
Board of Trustees Chairwoman Lynda Stanley said the board decided to appoint Sells to let the vice presidents of the college concentrate solely on their jobs during the transition.
Sells, she said, brings strong leadership skills and a good reputation. The trustees hope to name a new president is announced on May 17.
