Salem Community College in New Jersey narrows field to three finalists in presidential search

The Salem Community College Board of Trustees has announced its has narrowed the field to three finalists in the presidential search to succeed Dr. Peter B. Contini.
Following a nationwide search that attracted 53 candidates, 13 were selected and interviewed by a committee of trustees, faculty, staff, alumni and community members in June and July.
Contini, the longest serving president in the college’s history, will retire at the end of this year
The finalists named by the board are Dr. David J. Harris, Dr. Alicia B. Harvey-Smith and Dr. Frederico J. Talley.
The community is invited to meet each candidate from 3:30 until 4:30 p.m. in Contini Hall, Room 202, on the following Thursdays:
• Aug. 25: Harris
• Sept. 8: Harvey-Smith
• Sept. 15: Talley
Each finalist will spend an entire day on campus, meeting with faculty, staff and students. The visit will conclude with an evening meeting with the Board of Trustees, which is charged with selecting the next president. The Board is expected to announce its choice at its Sept. 22 meeting.
