Bucks County Community College in Pennsylvania selects search firm to help find next president
January 18, 2012
The Bucks County Community College Board of Trustees has retained the executive-search firm of Greenwood/Asher & Associates, Inc., to be part of a broad effort to select the next president, pending the retirement of longtime president, Dr. James J. Linksz.
The board of trustees announced the appointment at its regular monthly meeting on Jan. 12. Greenwood/Asher has conducted searches for presidents, chancellors, vice presidents, and deans at two- and four-year institutions and system offices throughout the country.
Blake Eisenhart, lead trustee for the presidential search, noted that the search requires significant effort.
“The Board of Trustees has invited approximately 40 members of the greater college community to work with the trustees and the search firm collectively as the college transitions to new leadership,” said Eisenhart. “These community members include faculty, students, staff, BCCC Foundation board members, alumni and community leaders. We are committed to an inclusive and transparent process.”
“The trustees recognize that the engagement and participation of the greater college community is critical to ensure the success of a new president,” said board chairman J. Peter Dominick. “They will provide perspective and guidance to the Board of Trustees, which has the responsibility to select a new president for the college.”
Linksz, who has served as president of the public, two-year college since 1992, announced in November that he plans to retire this year, after a replacement is found to ensure a smooth transition.
