The head of the U.S. Army Reserve, hundreds of active, reserve and veteran soldiers on Saturday celebrated the opening of a one-stop center for help and guidance for all branches of the military and their families.

The Army Strong Community Center at the Clackamas Community College campus in Oregon City is one of the first of its kind in the U.S. not located on a military installation and the first in the West. Speaking at the event were Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz Jr., the commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve, and his wife, Laura Stultz, who helped come up with the idea of providing face-to-face assistance to members of the military and their families in places far away from a military base.
