Louisiana Delta Community College is making it easier for working adults to further their education.
Delta will now be increasing the number and variety of late afternoon and evening courses starting this spring to accommodate people who ordinarily would not be able to attend classes earlier in the day.
Chancellor Luke Robins said providing these later courses will help boost enrollment while also allowing people with daytime jobs a chance to further their education and career opportunities.
"We just feel like there are a lot of folks in our community that may be thinking about going back to school or continuing their education and perhaps just don't know what their options are about attending in the late afternoon or evening," Robins said. "It's about meeting the needs of the people in the community. We just want to get the word out."
These evening course offerings will include both professional and technical programs in addition to the associate af Arts and associate of science transfer degree programs, which prepare students to continue their studies at the baccalaureate level.
