A handful of students at Fresno City College got lessons in the school of hard knocks this summer when they signed up for classes taught by a woman who had approached them on campus.

It wasn't until later, when the students tried to find out their grades, that they learned that Jacklyn Murfree -- who had collected cash from them and held classes at a coffee shop -- wasn't a City College faculty member.

The Facebook page says Murfree, 24, is an instructor at City College. But Murfree is neither a professor nor an adjunct professor at City College and is not affiliated with the college, said school spokeswoman Cris Monahan-Bremer.
