Ivy Tech east central chancellor Gail Chesterfield retires in August
Ivy Tech Community College has established a search committee for the leadership position of its East Central region. Gail Chesterfield, the current Chancellor of the East Central Region, is retiring effective August 31.
The committee plans to make its final selection by August. Joseph Russell, Regional Trustee, will serve as committee chair. Additional committee members include Tom Bennington, Regional Trustee and President of Muncie Sanitary District; Steve Daily, Chancellor of Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Region; Sally DeVoe, Regional Trustee and Executive Director of the Madison County Community Foundation; Stephen Edwards, Superintendent of Marion Community Schools; Dr. Edward Foggs, Community Leader; Dr. Terry King, Provost of Ball State University; Lonnie Peek, Admissions Advisor at Ivy Tech’s Marion Campus; Anand Ramaswami, Faculty member at Ivy Tech’s Anderson Campus; Quinn Ricker, President of Ricker Oil Company; and Kaye Whitehead, State Trustee and CEO of Seldom Rest Farms.
The East Central region—one of 14 regions in the Ivy Tech system—includes full-service campuses in Muncie, Anderson, Marion and soon to open New Castle, as well as other training and instruction sites. Enrollment in the region reaches nearly 9,000 students, and the region employs more than 200 faculty and 250 full and part-time staff. The Muncie region covers a 7 county service area, includes 2,651 square miles and has an approximate population of 429,000.
